Kobelco Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd (KCEI), a group company of Kobelco Construction Machinery Co Ltd, Japan is investing Rs.500 million to set up a unit in the private-sector multi-product SEZ in Tada in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The new unit is likely to go operational by early 2011 and is will have a capacity to manufacture 2000 units a year. This is the first unit in India and the company has 6 manufacturing locations across Japan, Thailand, China and India besides joint-ventures in Italy and US. In March 2018, the company is planning to further increase the capacity of the unit from 2000 units to 3000 units per year.
