Andhra Pradesh government is planning to develop two or three major industrial townships along the outer ring road around Amaravati, the new capital. The six-lane outer ring road , covering 87 villages in Krishna and Guntur districts will connect the major State highways, national highways and important district roads. According to officials, the project cost for the outer ring road will be ₹17,761 crore and 3,400 hectares of land will be needed for it. Currently, the required amount of Rs. 25000 million is needed for land acquisition. The government also plans an expressway to connect Amaravati and Anantapur. The 400-km expressway passes through Guntur, Prakasam, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts. Industrial parks are also planned along the major expressway.
