M B Smelters is planning to expand its Ferro Alloy Plant at Manesamudram in Hindupur in Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves increasing the capacity of 2×2 MVA Ferro-Manganese & Silico-Manganese (64,000 TPA), 1×2 MVA Low carbon Ferro Manganese (4,500 TPA), 1×9 MVA Ferro-Manganese & Silico-Manganese (25,200 TPA), 1×16.5 MVA Ferro Silicon & Silicon metal (14,200 TPA), Slag wool from waste slag 20,000 TPA. The project is estimated to cost Rs.1,200 million. As of February 2018 the project has obtained statutory clearances.
