Toray Industries is planning to set up a textile unit in Sri City near Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. The project involves setting up of manufacturing facilities to produce technical textiles with an investment of ₹ 10,000 million. The company has acquired 85 acres and will set up several other facilities like poly propylene spun bond plant.
It will produce diapers and other technical textiles for automotive, electrical and fast moving consumer goods industries. As of January 2019, the project is under implementation and is likely to go operational by 2020.
