Andhra Pradesh government has announced medical oxygen policy for the state to augment the supply. The main aim of the policy is to increase the Oxygen Manufacturing capacity from the existing 360 metric tonnes (MT) capacity to 700 MT. As per the policy, it will provide incentive in capex (cost) upto 30% and also in operating expenses ( by subsidizing electricity cost at ₹ 2 per unit). The incentives will be provided on first cum basis. It hopes to set up atleast 50 medical oxygen supply plants and supports all types of technology including pressure swing absorption, liquid oxygen as well as helium mixed oxygen.
