Andhra Pradesh government is set to roll out a comprehensive sand policy of 2020. It is undertaking a land survey of the state to have clear demarcation of sand resources. It plans to hand over sand mining activity to a single company across the state and plans to rope in Central government agency. It also plans to control price of sand resource across price points of state.
The new policy will also authorise people to take sand in their own vehicles after online booking. The Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) will be strengthened further. Red sanders task force will be attached with SEB.
