Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is planning to set up a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. The organization is having discussions with Indian Oil Corp to develop the plant. The new facility will spread over one acre of land parcel at a cost of ₹ 12 crore which will be shared equally by the TTD and IOCL.
When the CBG plant goes operation, the dependence of LPG for TTD will come down from 3.35 tpd to 1.1 tpd. IOCL has already completed the technical study for the project.
